About Clark County Court Records

Court records in Clark County, Washington are spread across several offices. The County Clerk holds Superior Court files at the Vancouver courthouse. District Court keeps its own limited-jurisdiction records. The County Auditor maintains recorded documents and marriage licenses. Finding the right office on the first try is half the work. We built this site so you can land on the right portal, address, or phone number without spending an hour bouncing between government websites.

Why We Built This Site

Washington gives the public broad access to court records. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. Clark County Superior Court cases go through the County Clerk at 1200 Franklin Street in Vancouver. District Court cases stay with District Court at its building on E. 13th Street. The Sheriff manages the jail roster and active warrant information. Add the Washington Courts Odyssey Portal, the state vital records office, and the County Auditor, and the picture gets crowded fast.

We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each of these offices into one place. You should not need to visit five different websites just to figure out where to call.

Clark County Courts We Cover

Clark County has two main trial courts. Superior Court is the general-jurisdiction trial court. It hears felony criminal cases, divorce and family law, probate, guardianship, juvenile, dependency, mental illness, and large civil disputes. The County Clerk maintains the Superior Court file room and handles copy requests. The clerk's public review window is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.

District Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. It handles misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, traffic infractions, small claims, protection orders, and name changes. District Court moved to a new building at 210 E. 13th Street, Vancouver, WA 98660, in February 2026. The Camas-Washougal Municipal Court covers city code matters for that part of the county. Appeals from Superior Court go to the Washington Court of Appeals, Division II, and then to the Washington Supreme Court.

The Washington Courts Odyssey Portal at odysseyportal.courts.wa.gov is the main online search tool for Clark County Superior Court cases. Anyone can look up a case by case number, party name, or business name without registering. That portal is the starting point for most searches, and we walk through how to use it on several pages of this site.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to Clark County, the Clark County Clerk, the Clark County Sheriff, the Washington Courts, or any government agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

  • We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.

Washington Public Records Law

Washington's Public Records Act, RCW chapter 42.56, gives residents broad rights to inspect and copy government records. Court case records follow a separate framework. Washington court rule GR 31 sets the policy that favors access to court records while protecting personal identifiers. Together, these rules mean most Clark County court records are open, but some categories stay restricted. We explain what is public and what is not on each relevant page of this site.

If you want to read the law directly, the Public Records Act is at RCW chapter 42.56. Court rule GR 31 is available through the Washington Courts website.

Search Partners

Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.

Keeping Information Current

Clerk offices move. Hours change. Phone numbers get reassigned. A good example is the District Court move to 210 E. 13th Street in early 2026. We update pages as we hear about changes, but gaps happen. Before you drive to a courthouse or mail a payment, call ahead to confirm the current address, hours, and fee amounts.
